As a forum of people into self enhancement I wonder how many here have tried or regularly use smart drugs for general cognitive enhancement (eg do better at work or uni) rather than specific health conditions.

Although I tried some of the mildest stuff out there in the past I don't take anything now and sometimes when reading about it on the web I wonder if they're now common and I'm left behind! Does anyone here take them?

Modafinil is pretty cool. I've taken it around 10 times. I have a high tolerance to things (alcohol, caffenine, etc). I rarely drink but it takes 4-5 beers before I get a buzz. The meal ticket is ephedrine. Its fantastic. I take 90 mg at once (don't do this), slam a couple caffeine drinks over the next hour or two and feel like I could stop a tank. Euphoria.

No effect at all? Undesirable effects?

Interesting but the way you describe it is almost like it gets you high. Being high at work would be my biggest nightmare. What I would like is improved memory and being sharper all round.

I've tried all the ADHD medication, I only took it for recreational use but I can't really see it imroving concentration, it made me erratic and I stayed up taking it for days, it lasts way too long and you just can't sleep.
I've taken ephedrine, this definitely improves concentration but only for lasts 2 to 3 hours. It drains your seratonin and makes you feel shit at work the next day.

I take "brain on" an E3AFA . While nowhere near the effect of Ritalin etc it's does help lift that "fog" from your mind for a few hours and gives you mental clarity . Definitely not delicious to drink but I like the outcome.

Modafin 2 times.
Superslightly more productive, but mostly it just stopped hunger - i did miss breakfast and lunch cause i was working basically. All in all i found it not worth it for me. I am productive also when i am not on it, so i just got the no-hunger effect out of it, which is i guess only usefull when you are on a diet.

I feel like a whole different human being on adderall. I'd take a very tiny amount every day if I could.  I'm much more alert and social.

Very interesting... there is so much hype around modafinil I am very tempted to try it.

Does adderall lead to addiction and withdrawal?

I regularly take them. ceretropic.com is where I get them for the most part.

They work to a degree but nothing like something out of the movies. I'm a Software Engineer in my 40s and trying to keep up with the younger people in the field. I think nootropics have indeed helped me continue to keep at the level I was but don't believe they've improved my work performance.
