Hi Members,

This week Mens Health magazine (Australia) ran our full page ad on CALIBRE our HA injectable phalloplasty technique. It is the first time (I believe) there has been an  advert for phalloplasty in a major Australian magazine. I think over the next 5 - 10 yrs there will be a big uptake of this procedure and lots of further development. I don't think we are at the perfect procedure for penis enlargement but we are taking steps.

I would be keen to  hear feedback on the ad and our new website -

Dr Oats having already been a patient in sydney for calibre do you offer botox scrotum injections ?

Website looks great better then the clinics ones. Curious is the model a patient too.

Whats the PRP shot and why is it a good addition to Calibre?   (website doesn't really explain why yet)

Hi BigManX,

We do a lot of botox but not so much to the scrotum. It can be used to decrease the Dartos muscle activity - causing the wrinkling of the skin. Some guys can find that the skin is too tight and uncomfortable. Botox there may allow a bit of extra hang too. The testicles are supported by the cremaster muscle too. That is what can retract the testicles right up towards the abdomen . It is deeper in and I have not injected that myself, but where you need to inject to get more hang to the testicle.

It would take a decent dose so be quite expensive for a short lived benefit I wold imagine.

There is quite a bit of info on PRP under erectile dysfunction. PRP is the unbranded "P-Shot" so harvesting 60ml of blood then spinning out 6-  8ml of platelets. It improves function and sensitivity moderately well. The originator Dr Charles Runnels claims increased size in combination with pumping but whether that is more that the guy may have got with pumping is unclear. The good thing about PRP is that it is all your own growth factors and nothing synthetic.

I have had one PRP shot with Dr Runnels and pumped with zero results. Another member had a couple of PRP shots (I think in San Jose, CA?) also with no increase in size. Any other side benefits have not been reported on this site, not to say there are no benefits. The science say there should be.

If we want a specific PRP thread I will start one. Interesting but unproven is my feeling. Low risk apart from expense.

We also have postcards - it has been suggested it is too subtle because it does not mention penis on the front. Thoughts?

it's very subtle and i like subtle, i think it's a good foot in the door for people already searching out the procedure. i think the larger the ad the better, if it's too small people may read over it and not read the print.

Well done Dr Oates. I like the ad and the updated website. You're getting a good before and after gallery happening, and as they say, a picture says a thousand words.

I agree that this sort of thing will take off big time over coming years. I know its only early days but do you have plans of expanding into Queensland?

Dr Oats thanks for the explanation

Postcard is good, I don't think I would really want to be carrying around a postcard with Penis on it.    Enhancement is more of a wanting to read as its a broader term

Maxim magazine has a last minute offer to place the full page ad plus a full page editorial, so we are going for it. Even though we have had ZERO calls from the full page ad in Men's Health....
We also just found out today that our paper has been accepted for publication in Aesthetic Surgery Journal. I want to talk about that in the editorial but my wife says no one will care and just focus on what the treatment does and the benefits.
So what would guys (especially the uninitiated ) want to be reading?

Plus everyone fee free to go to our facebook page and like it or go to the webpage and flick through lots of pages and spend a few minutes reading. Apparently will be good for our Google ranking....

It will never be mainstream. Cosmetic procedures are not accepted for men. Besides most people will not take risks with their dick. Every person that do this are either desperate/narcisists or a bit crazy. Take balding as an example. No man wants to go bald. Propecia a medication stop this in over 90% for 10 years plus. It is a pill a day and cheap if you get your doctor to give you generic. Some people have problems with erections taking this drug. Statistics say it is 1-2% and if you have it just quit the drug and you are back to normal. Yet most guys will not take the drug because of risk and because they don't want to be viewed as vain. This is dirt cheap with low risk compared to Phalloplasty. Yet people turn away due to risk. Same with hair transplants. People will not have it due to cost and/or because they don't want to be viewed as vain. Hair can make or break a mans look and is one of the entrance tickets to even be allowed to use your unit for sex. Yet very few people with hairloss takes drugs and/or get transplants for these reasons. Do you think the average Joe will do this? Just before I went to Prague a guy in Sweden died injecting fat. This would have put most people off. I went anyway due to desperation. I think it will grow and more people will do this, but people that think today that they want a bigger unit can just use Google and end up here. It is not a government held secret or anything.

I think Geroge says it all here.

We do this though desperation or through seriously bad decision making.

If you're average and do this then you're mad. Should be a last ditch attempt at a decent quality of life. Too many risks to be anythng else.
