Given the frequency of donations occurring at an interval of once every month and my personal increase in living expenditures (which implies I have fewer funds to allocate), I've decided to re-implement a subscription system.

Essentially the entire forum minus the "General Phalloplasty Discussion" forum will be blocked off from non-subscribers. If you wish to see the rest of the site, please pay. Given what you're willing to pay to make your penis bigger, $5 a month can't be too much to ask (there will be monthly, bi-annual, and annual packages available).

Those who will be exempt from subscription fees & enjoy free lifetime membership include:
  • Moderators
  • Forum Veterans
  • (Previous) Forum Donors
  • Members who've submitted thorough progress reports (minimum 1 before & after photo set, minimum 2 thread pages)
If you feel you belong to one of the categories above and have been blocked viewership, please email me at phalloboards@gmail.com to have it resolved.

This system will be implemented sometime this summer, exact date TBD. This isn't for discussion, this is simply an announcement. Transactions through this forum's payment system will remain secure & confidential and an inevitable increase in revenue will aid in improvements for this site.

Thanks for all those who've contributed,

-S.O.

p.s. If you'd like to donate before this system goes into effect, you'll enjoy free lifetime membership like all other donors. You can find how to donate at the top of any page of this forum.

How much should I donate roughly for a lifetime membership?

I'll be using the forum for another year or so and will pick the most economical alternative.

At long last! Will there be a method of extracting the monthly subscription from my card? It's the only option available in my region for small amounts (bank transfers for larger).

Not open to discussion but what about suggestion? Why not make it flat, who doesn't like can leave the board? I consider that paying monthly over my lifetime will be a hell of a lot more than a one- or two-time donation, plus everyone should be reporting anyway ...

since it became clear how meticulous and sincere are the mods on this board, and how important that is to people's health and welfare, i've been definitely going to donate. the only question of course: when? thus a well timed kick up the backside.

That is correct.

@ All other members:

Donor tags plus the implementation of this system is likely slated for a Mid June start up.

Subscription forum: fair enough. I do have some questions/suggestions though before I join/donate.

- The first hand reports about anything other than PMMA are extremely rare. I fear that a subscription approach will limit them even further to the point where there will be none. People (men) are generally selfish and do not give a fuck about sharing, giving back, being kind or being part of a community (with notable exceptions of course). Otherwise, this forum would be replete of men sharing experiences with FFT (there must be thousands of men undergoing this every year), HA fillers (thousands, who knows even millions worldwide), surgeries etc. But it's not. Here we would have a random report from time to time about Radiesse or Macrolane or whatever. As imperfect as some of them are (people do not follow up, disappear soon after and do not respond to PMs), I think they are very useful and I fear they will disappear completely. What will you do to ensure a wide audience can still come and those who are willing to share will have the opportunity to share without having to pay for it?

- Which brings me to my suggestion: I am member of another private forum (not PE) where people who share first hand experiences and post pictures are exempt from paying subscription. You don't want to share, fine, you'll have to pay. It's not fair to only take and never give back. But you are willing to share and document everything with pictures and update more regularly, then the moderators will waive your subscription fee. Because your report is extremely valuable. This is all the forums are about - sharing first hand experiences. I can find information about the filler myself. I can find studies and research. What I can't find is first hand, reliable and documented experiences.

For example, let's say I'm going to have augmentation with Ellanse and I am willing to document all my experience with details and pictures. This would be invaluable information to hundreds of current or prospective members. Has it turned all right or is it a pure disaster? I'm the one taking the risk. It doesn't even have to be something new. As long as more people share, we get more of data and information. Why should I have to pay the same subscription fee as someone who will never share or post anything in their life and will only take and never give back?

So, I don't want to over-complicate this, but you need to think this through. If this forum is going to stay relevant and survive in the long run as new fillers and options become available, we need people who will share experiences. Anything from type of filler to doctors' names. You need to encourage people to do that. As I said above, it could be as simple as the other forum I am a member - you share a personal experience after undergoing a procedure with a doctor with all the details and post pictures (a must), you can join the forum for free. Because you are invaluable. Because you are what the forum is all about.

Given the wealth of information that this site provides, I think this is more than fair.

That is, to be fair, a very good point...

Hadn't thought of that.

Not really a good point. With that reasoning, imagine if this site didn't exist at all. You'd have zero accounts of first-hand experiences, and even worse, what little info was available was monopolized by unscrupulous physicians and patient associates.

I started this forum voluntarily & out-of-pocket. It's time the community return the favor.

The system for membership fees is already up and the implementation & execution of this program will happen sometime within the next week. For those who'd like a sneak peak for what to expect, here's the final forum draft: http://phalloboards.websitetoolbox.com/post/subscription-purchase-8138089?pid=1292510259

Not sure I follow the analogy entirely , I do see his point Skeptical.

Ultimately if people have to pay to be able to post their feedback, new feedback will be reduced, the call is, is that a price worth paying.

Is there no way we could all pay the subscription which the site deserves but somehow allow people who are leaving a log to leave it without paying ? Perhaps leaving a new log requires no subscription but reviewing other peoples logs does?

The logs are such a vital part of the forums , it's the element that really helps people see results and decisions.

Yes, members who wish to post a progress report with a minimum of one before & after photo-set can obtain temporary free viewership (which I'll clarify in the subscription thread)... and their membership can become a free lifetime membership if the thread reaches at least 2 pages in rich content (which includes thorough updates as well as discussion with other members of the forum). They simply would need to email me with their before & after photo set as well as a draft of their first post (must be thorough & detailed), and we can go from there.

The CCBill accepts a number of currencies, so yes, international funds can be accepted.

I'll do my best to encourage new reports but I believe there is a good 6 years worth of info here already that in itself presents a pretty good sample size & big picture.
